Rheumatology

Rheumatology is a science branch dealing with rheumatic inflammatory diseases and other musculoskeletal system disorders. Rheumatism is a general term for diseases causing pain and limitation of movement and sometimes swelling and deformation in muscles, bones and joints enabling the movement of our body and in ligaments connecting such structures.

Rheumatic diseases are not of one kind but include about 200 diseases. Rheumatic diseases may manifest themselves with various complaints depending on the kind of disease. Rheumatic diseases may, beside joints, affect such internal organs as HEART, LUNGS or KIDNEYS. Skin and eyes may also be affected. Therefore, complaints are not limited with joints.
