Physical and mental growth and development of fetus is possible with adequate and balanced nutrition of the mother during pregnancy. The basic principle of a healthy baby and mother is adequate and balanced nutrition. Weight gain in pregnancy should be between 9-15 kg. For women getting pregnant above ideal body weight, this interval is 7-9 kg. One-sided nutrition should be avoided and adequate quantities of all food groups should be consumed to ensure balanced nutrition and weight control during pregnancy.

In our Nutrition and Dietetic Department, nutrition programs specific to expectant mothers are prepared for healthy babies and mothers.
