Hemorrhoids Treatment

There are various treatments depending on the degree of hemorrhoids. In first degree hemorrhoids, drug treatment, regulation of intestinal habits, avoiding spicy food and relief of constipation is usually sufficient.

In second degree hemorrhoids, drug treatment, infrared coagulation (radiation therapy) and ligation treatment are applied. Elastic band ligation is a very appropriate method for hemorrhoids that are not severe enough to require surgery.  It is a short (5-10 minutes) and painless procedure. Patients return to normal life following the procedure.

In third degree hemorrhoids, elastic band ligation and surgery are applied; in fourth degree hemorrhoids, on the other hand, only surgery is applied. Since papillae causing the disease are removed surgically, the disease is immediately eradicated. The most effective treatment with the lowest possibility of recurrence in the long term is surgery.
