Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin, and mucous diseases, venereology (sexually transmitted diseases), and hair and nail diseases. In addition to the post-examination laboratory tests required for the identification of the causes of skin diseases such as eczema, contact eczema and urticaria (rash), Prick Test and Patch Test methods are also applied and evaluated in our hospital also engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of allergic skin diseases. A treatment schedule is set up in accordance with the results.

Skin Patch Test

Patch Testing helps identify the substances causing a reaction in patients who developed a reaction against contact, and as to whether or not the substances are allergic. The test performed by the application of the substance contained in a specific material, on the back of the patient for substances with a delayed onset of allergic effect, results in the skin findings until hour 96 following removal after 48 hours. The Patch test implemented by our specialist dermatologists reveals a small, red skin rash on the application area in the case of allergy.

Allergy Skin Test (Prick Test)

Prick Test is an allergic test mainly used to identify causes such as domestic dust, pollens, and pet fur that result in allergic flu and asthma. Small amounts of the solutions prepared using many allergens such as dust mite proteins, floral, grain and vegetative pollens, animal fur, molds etc. suspected for allergy or with high allergenic potential are dropped on the back or inner surface of the forearm and the skin portion under the drop is slightly scratched with the aid of a plastic rod or similar object. Allergic presence is verified when a skin reaction ranging between a slight rash and large swelling and hardness is observed on the test spot within 30 minutes. The physician implementing the test measures the substance of the allergic reactions and identifies whether or not the patient is allergic and the allergen in the case of allergy.
