Interventional Pulmonology - Kolan British Hospital

Interventional Pulmonology

In our clinics, bronchoscopy, conventional transbronchial needle aspiration, transbronchial needle aspiration (TBN) with convex probe endobronchial ultrasonography (EBUS) are performed on mediastinal and hilar lymphadenopathy and mass lesions.

Biopsy is taken from solitary pulmonary nodule or nodular pulmonary infiltrates by EBUS-guided radial probe.

In our clinics, following procedures are provided:

  • Biopsy by freezing from hard-to-diagnose visible tumors (cryobiopsy),
  • Removal of foreign materials entering the airways,
  • Stopping bleeding and treating the apparent disease causing bleeding in lung diseases with the symptom of spitting blood,
  • Placement of endoscopic valve or coil in inoperable patients with emphysema,
  • In airway stenosis occurring during the course of non-tumor lung diseases,
  • Dilation of airways with balloon (balloon dilation),
  • Dilation of airways with rigid bronchoscope (rigid dilation),
  • Placement of a stent to prevent the recurrence of stenosis,
  • In airway stenosis occurring due to benign and malignant tumors,
  • Reduction of the mass by freezing (cryotherapy),
  • Removal of the mass by freezing (cryo recanalization),
  • Reduction of the mass by igniting (argon plasma coagulation – APC),
  • Removal of the mass with clamps after ignition, (APC-MTR),
  • Placement of a stent to prevent the recurrence of stenosis
