These tests are non-invasive, objective and physiological measurements where newborns are screened by using national newborn hearing screening programs, OAE (Auto-acoustic emission) and ABR.

Use of both ABR and TEOAE as a part of hearing screening program is the most ideal choice. In most of the cases, upon use of ABR or TEOAE alone, a slight transmission type or sensorineural hearing disorders may be detected. However, in a baby with hearing disorder, both methods are needed to be applied for a final diagnosis.
